profile: DJ Righteous P

Use the form below to send Righteous P and Adelaide Mackenzie the subject you want to talk about and/or request music you want to listen to on their chat show.
My name is Righteous P. I am a Gospel radio presenter on an internet-based radio station. In my early teens the Prince's Trust funded initiatives in our area, one of which was an all-girl sound system. This lasted for about 18 months, maybe more, before I had to change my records & turntables for nappies and formula milk... that's where I thought it had all ended.
I've been in radio for three years now, which was the answer of God to something I wrote in my vision book, but I didn't share it with anyone. While giving out flyers for an event I was hosting, I was given the opportunity to co-host a gospel show on a community radio station. I've always had a love for music; when I was young I wanted to be a singer and dancer.
Giving my life to the Lord in 1999, I soon realised that God had blessed me with a gift to spread his love and message of deliverance and hope through Gospel music, which was what played a big part in me surrendering to the Lord's will for my life. Music is a very powerful tool, so my aim is to present the contemporary music genres in an appealing and effective way.
I have three gospel shows on ramjamradio.com. Monday night's show is the up-tempo Great Gospel Grooves Show from 6 - 8 pm GMT, in which I present the latest and the best in dance floor fillers; I also have regular interviews with artists both leading and upcoming and recently interviewed Four Kornerz and Jahaziel on the recent album releases.
Friday is a talk show where I talk about real life issues; my aim is not just to talk about them but to find real life solutions, hence the name Real Talk, from 1 pm to 3 pm GMT. Recent guests were two teenage boys who were once gang rivals and have now become friends.
Finally, on Saturdays is The Gospel Train show from 9 pm to 12 midnight GMT, musically inspiring you with Praise and Worship, Holy Slow Jams and Easy Listening melodies. Around all of this I am a Wife, full time stay-at-home Mother of 4 children and also part of the team of sound engineers of my local church.
My motto is Spreading the Love of God through Great Gospel Music.
Please tune in for any of my shows, and don't forget that you can join other listeners and myself for a chat in Ramjam's live StudioChat, or you can email me directly in studio while I'm on-air.

The spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed and qualified me to preach the Gospel of good tidings to the meek, the poor and the afflicted; He has sent me to bind up and heal the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the physical and spiritual captives and the opening of the prison and of the eyes to those who are bound. And to comfort all those who mourn. (paraphrased)
